About the event
Whether self-editing or collaborating with an editor, poetry editing is a practice in listening, focusing on how subtle shifts in syntax, line breaks, and image can change the meaning of a piece. Poet-editor Matthew Hollis suggests that successful poetry editing also involves listening to the author “tuning into their poems.” In this workshop, we’ll discuss expectations within a typical editorial relationship, the different levels of feedback available, and tips for self-editing, demystifying the poetry editing process and setting the soundstage for effective, generative listening.
Hosted by the Saskatchewan Writers' Guild. Event page here.
