Join the River Volta Reading Series for a night of poetry and conversation with Sheri Benning and Sarah Ens!
Sheri Benning’s most recent collection of poetry, Field Requiem, was published by Carcanet Press in Fall 2021. Field Requiem was a finalist for The League of Canadian Poets' Pat Lowther Memorial Award and has been shortlisted for The Derek Walcott Prize for Poetry. Sheri grew up on a farm in central Saskatchewan, Treaty 6 Territory. She completed a PhD at the University of Glasgow and currently lives in Saskatoon where she teaches.

Sarah Ens is a writer and editor based in Treaty 1 territory (Winnipeg, MB). Her poetry and nonfiction have appeared in numerous publications throughout North America. The World Is Mostly Sky, her debut collection of poetry, was shortlisted for the 2021 McNally Robinson Book of the Year Award and the 2022 Lansdowne Prize for Poetry. Sarah holds a BFA in Creative Writing from the University of British Columbia and an MFA in Writing from the University of Saskatchewan. Flyway is her second book of poetry.
